Hull Construction

HULL MATERIAL: Composite Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP) using end-grain Balsa core – infused sandwich construction. Some areas of the hull and deck are PVC foam cored. Vinylester resin is used to prevent osmotic blistering below the waterline.

HULL COLOR: Off white gelcoat.

FRAMING: Infused composite GRP or plywood webs and bulkheads are bonded to the hulls using fiberglass tabbing or with a structural adhesive.

DECK & SUPERSTRUCTURE: Infused composite GRP. There is a flybridge with the helm position, a sink / cooking area, dining table and passenger seating. A fiberglass ‘hard top’ bimini covers the flybridge. A stairway from the saloon and two stairways forward give access to the fly bridge.

HULL to DECK JOINT: The deck is bonded to the hull with a structural adhesive. The bridgedeck is laminated to the hulls with fiberglass.

RUBRAIL: Full length white PVC rubrails are mechanically fitted along the hull to deck joint. There is a stainless steel insert. White plastic rubrails are fitted around the transom lips.

CEILINGS: White vinyl over plywood panels.

RUDDERS: Stainless steel spade rudders with stainless steel rudderstocks.

KEELS: Sacrificial skegs forward of the propellers.

BOWS & additions: Straight stems with chines. A single anchor support at the forward side of the bridgedeck.

STERNS & additions: Transoms with molded steps. Stainless steel vertical posts support the flybridge extension and incorporate stainless steel dinghy davits. The davits are operated with an electric motor.

There is a hydraulically operated swim platform between the hulls.

THROUGH HULL FITTINGS (below w/l): ‘Forespar Marelon’ (plastic) ballvalve type seacocks with

‘Marelon’ skin fittings.

DECK HATCHES: 10 ‘Lewmar’ aluminum framed, deck hatches.

OPENING PORTLIGHTS: 4 aluminum framed opening portlights.

EMERGENCY ESCAPE HATCHES: 2 breakable glass windows (one in each hull amidships).

CABINTOP WINDOWS: Tinted, tempered glass, windows on the forward, aft and sides of the cabintop. There is an aluminum framed watertight door leading to the forward cockpit and an aluminum sliding doorway at the aft side.

FIXED HULL WINDOWS: 6 Tinted acrylic windows.

ENGINES: 2 x ‘Volvo Penta D6-330l-F’ in-line 6-cylinder, 5,5-liter diesel engines using common-rail fuel injection, double overhead camshafts, and turbo charged.

HOLDING TANKS: 2 x 45 gallon / 170lt plastic tanks – amidships port & starboard (below the cabin sole). Each tank is fitted with a ‘Whale Toilet’ macerator pump for discharge.
